| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com With this delicious double-disc investigating deep trance to the earthiest degree, Dutchman Sander Kleinenberg proves himself a rare and true gem in the ever-expanding world of DJs and producers. Every track he touches becomes imbued with an expert's sense of love and levity. But the real excitement here is supplied by Kleinenberg's ear for music. Subsequently, his track selection is never anything less than genuinely enthralling: Mike Vandenberg's "Spooky," a scintillating update on Harold Faltermayer; Virtuoso's almost tantric blast of energy, "Stay With Me;" and his own eerie Moroder-esque twister, "Hidden Agenda." Kleinenberg's enthusiastic energy on this seamless mix of trance, techno, and funky house also subtly complements the mood of the music. Witness the way Audiomontage's "Fly Baby" cruises before slipping into the fast lane with East West Connection's punchy dance-floor motions on "Once I've Been There," or even the gleefully assaultive partnership of Marc O'Tools's "Stauffenberg" and Pariah's "Keep the Peace." Everyone knows names like Nick Warren and John Digweed, but this guy is only just scratching the surface of mainstream fame. Buy this set, give him a year, and know that Sander Kleinenberg will be one of the world's top DJs. --Steffan Chirazi

Outside the Kleinenberg Box...Halfway at Least May 27, 2007 Cloudman (Vancouver, BC) Holland native Sander Kleinenberg hits the decks for Global Underground: Nubreeds' fourth release. I hesitated on this album for a long period of time as I don't really enjoy the majority of Kleinenberg's sets...especially when he is playing live. They lack versatility and depth.
Saying this, I was unbelievably overjoyed with Disc 1 of this album. It still remains one of my favorite compilations to date. He wonderfully builds up the tempo with sleek progressive house tracks and skillfully shifts into darker progressive trance to finish the set off. Kleinenberg clearly embraces his UK influences with his track selection for disc 1.
Disc 2 is more of what I expect to hear when I think of Sander Kleinenberg. Not the first half of the CD, buy definitely the second half. Midway through disc 2 his track selection charts familiar territory. An overabundance of spacey sounding techno and hard progressive trance tracks that seem to blend into one long and mundane track. I lose interest here.
Disc 1 gets 5/5 stars and in my opinion is worth the cost of the album on its own. Disc 2 gets 3/5 stars but rarely gets air time at my place.
Finally August 25, 2006 J. Wahlgren (boston) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I finally got a groove for this album on the second cd. The first disc seems like the same groove for four tracks and doesn't switch until Mike Vanderberg's Spooky. I gave Sander K a chance and bought This is everybody on tour, and I wasn't necessarily feeling that. I gave this album a chance, and established a liking for this high ranked dj. The form of the album reminds me of Sasha-Ibiza in the sense that it takes half the first cd to establish a groove and then follows through with great transitions on the second cd.
Beyond Bliss! May 29, 2006 Rahul Joshi (India) I wudnt really write a review unless something is really buggy or extraordinary , so here I couldnt stop myself to rate this magnificent audio masterpiece.
Words fall short describing this extraordinary 'THING', Sander Kleinenberg has put together. The songs emit solid energy rite from the word go, mixing into higher echelons... making you feel ecstatically elevated once every while. Needless to mention the somewhat magically compiled tracklist. Each song sounds like a gem here, or maybe its the masterful mixing of Kleinenberg. The songs somehow just mix into each other without a trace.... you know just FUSE into each other!
I love Pvd, Ferry, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, Lawler, Sasha and the likes.... BUT I haven't heard anything like this from anyone of them before.
yeah... its that good!
A MUST buy for anyone who appreciates music in general. or even for the noobs who wanna show off some club action at their local bbq.
10 out of 5 *s any day.
clean, energetic, and simple October 31, 2005 John Feider 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
CD 1: 5 stars CD 2: 5 stars This mix is my first Sander K compilation and boy did it come out of left field and knock me on my butt. The entire set is put together differently than most sasha/digweed types out there. It is more focused on beats and how they combined together. Sander K does an awesome job of making the experience a roller coaster ride. First the set starts off slow and builds. Then bam! You're thrown into this blend of clean and rhythmic beats. Pretty soon you can't stop tapping your foot and nodding your head. NuBreed is always a mix you can come back to months later and still have awe and appreciation for it. A pure classic.
solid as expected August 13, 2004 SergeNYC (Staten Island, NY United States) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I didn't discover Sander Klienenberg's mixes until his last one " Renaissance Presents Everybody"
So, I decided to check out his earlier work and as I expected it was excellent. He has become one of my favorite djs now. Considering I am more into Goa trance, I was impressed with his abilities to perfectly blend together an awesome progressive mix. Highly, recommended. This mix is not as mellow as " Renaissance Presents Everybody" and it has that dark deep sound to it.
