Amazon.com In this fast and tasty chaser of an EP, the Chemical Brothers indulge themselves with an epic B-side, a live track, and three nasty remixes, along with two enhanced video tracks for "Star Guitar" and "The Test" (both off their previous full-length release, Come with Us). Two versions of "Star Guitar" besides the video version are included, too. The first is a slam-bang remix that kicks off the record. The second, extended live version brilliantly shreds the song's giddy chorus, earning it consideration as definitive version of the song. More straightforward than some of their recent work, AmericanEP has the Brothers focused squarely on the beat, letting the sheer thump of tracks like "H.I.A." and "Electronic Battle Weapon 6" (a remixed version of Come with Us's "Hoops") drive their momentum. The EP serves as an exuberant reminder of just how lethal these two DJs can be when they let it rip. --Matthew Cooke

Just... Awesome!! September 24, 2008 J.A.M. (Mex) If you want to experience some of the great beats in the world try this EP, Im sure you gonna like it, maybe they're few songs but they're fantastic to party (or get your mood very, I mean it, very high)
A wonderful EP that was aimed at the US after 'Come With Us' October 6, 2004 Lil' Rowlands (Detroit Lakes, MN) The remixes (Trisco La Funk and H Foundation) were some great remixes of the tracks 'Star Guitar' and 'Come With Us'. I've read somewhere that this EP was made by Tom and Ed after 9/11, sort of a special gift for the US...if that was true or not, I would agree that it was a fabulous gift. Out of all of their other EP's (Loops Of Fury, Music: Response, etc), The AmericanEP stands out in front of the others. 'H.I.A.' was a bomb-shell B-Side track that measures up to the same expectations and popularity that 'Morning Lemon' received on their Limited Edition Singles album and Block Rockin' Beats CD-Single. 'Electronic Battle 6' is clearly a dark and dodgy remix of 'Hoops' which, in my opinion, should've gotten more recognition than it did on the release of Come With Us. 'Temptation/Star guitar [LIVE]' only adds on to the excitement, performing LIVE from Brixton Academy, along with other LIVE performances (Hey Boy Hey Girl from Glastonbury, I think, Hoops/Setting Sun, etc), prooves how they can get a big LIVE crowd and even listeners at home to feel the different directions they add into a LIVE performance rather than the album version point of view or a mixed or scratched track. Honestly, I never even took the time to check out the videos (knowing the CD is ENHANCED) because I have the 'Singles 93-03' DVD and the videos are on it and all (I highly suggest the DVD for big Chem. Bros. fans), but I will eventually when I find time just to say I did it. I give the AmericanEP - 5 out of 5 -stars. That's my review, thanks!

I respect Chemical Brothers 100% for releasing this in America right after 9/11.

This EP Rocks! Give all 5 tracks a listen. But first Listen to H.I.A. complete with a Fingers, Inc. sample "I wanna go higher, take me higher" and Electronic Battle Weapon 6 (Hoops). That version definely should have made Come With Us. The Come With Us H-Foundation Remix is awesome as well. Put on your dancing shoes for Temptation/Star Guitar Live From Brixton Academy. It is amazing. Buy this EP!
EP to Come With Us, I'm in! February 20, 2003 G-Man (Leicester, NY) First of all Come With Us is amazing, mind blowing. Now check out the videos and remixes of Star Guitar and The Test. I'm not the biggest fan of the remixes (besides how can you improve on the orginals, you can't) but the videos are worth the money alone.
