I'm sorry.... July 13, 2008 Todd W. Van Lom (Portland, OR) I have to agree with the majority on this. I enjoy listening to new artists to break the 10-song-a-day cycle of hit radio my kids listen to, but this was pretty bad. I used to be a talent buyer for a live music venue and 30 seconds of listening to this was almost more than I could take. It sounds so novice that I'm surprised any artist would let this album be released the way it is. Not the way to put your best foot forward, IMO. However, I wish her the best.
Brutal July 13, 2008 Tony-20 (Cincinnati, OH USA) Wow, this is bad. What's up with the fingers scraping on the guitar strings? Makes me wonder how did this chick got any record deal, even an indie. Thanks, Amazon, but no thanks.
Typical Mirah, and that's a good thing. July 10, 2008 Don Walton Jr. (Albuquerque, NM United States) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
This track was pretty much what I expected as a long time Mirah listener. It's from a collection of demos, so the 'unmastered' sound of it is part of the charm. It's a glimpse into the building of a song, and as such it's not nearly as layered or epic as something like 'Jerusalem'. It's still got a very strong hook, and a slightly novelty lyrical flow. The chorus kind of reminds me of That Dog. in tone and melody.
It's free, it gives the unexposed listener a soft taste of Mirah and thats what free demos are built for. If you like it in the least, you'll be very impressed with her studio recordings.
Real bad! July 10, 2008 Jean L. Balch (Illinois) It was the worst song I've ever heard, and I like a variety of music!
Couldn't get past the song preview. July 10, 2008 K. Allen (Omaha, NE) I didn't even download it. Had to stop the preview and lower the volume. So irritating!
