Peter does it right again July 5, 2008 Vincent D. Callaghan (Queens Village, New York United States) If you are a fan of Peter's mixes, this is another great must have set in the "I Love" series, along with the New York and Miami discs. Great artists and tracks, thanks Peter.
Techno trance/dance from a master of big room hard house? December 12, 2007 John Tiedemann (Downtown New York City) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is one of my favorite Peter Rauhofer CD yet and I've got them all! I love the transition Peter is hinting at in his music on this CD which while not a move he's making on his own I am a fan of the current transition (bothy his and others such as Victor Calderone and Eric Morillo) to a more techno trancy sort of big club tribal dance music. And while there are some nice chill trance moments on here this 2 CD set isn't lacking for intensity and hard banging anthemic beats either.
I'd say this is so far my favorite CD from Peter to date and certainly the best of the "I Love" series which is saying a lot cause both Miami and New York (and now Montreal) have been awesome additions to my collection of over 5,000 CDs and they're all still in my current listening rotation.
Yet another great compilation from Rauhofer November 29, 2007 D. Edwards (NYC) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It gets hard to keep reviewing Peter's mix cds because even though he evolves with the cutting edge sounds while keeping his signature pounding sound, he always puts out a good product (I still have't "got" the Live @ Roxy 2 track selection, but that's the exception). He walks the tightrope between underground and peak anthems, so his fans sometimes argue about too dark or too vocal, but that's within a range most enjoy anyhow. Montreal leans towards minimal and tech influences, with just a few vocals and vocal loops but lots of dub feeling. You picture him in the booth looking out, thinking, "how will they react to THIS?" :-)
Hopefully amazon will get the correct 2 disc track list, but don't wait to buy this if you love the NY house sound.
