| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com More than a little dark around the edges, Peter Rauhofer's third entry in the Live At Roxy series is lean and nasty, focused on cavernous beats and lush, cold textures. Past Roxy releases have mined the DJ's captivating sense of timing and rhythmic patience, but Roxy 3's flat terrain makes even slight modulations feel like sky-high rocket rides. While Madonna's airy "Nobody Knows Me" gets dropped into the deep end of the sonic ocean, Rauhofer's remix breaks the central melody up into digitized rays of light that pierce the gloom. Disc two's contrasts are more limber, concentrating on shadowy, tribal techno with hints of electro (Cajmere's "Midnight") and the occasional anthem (the set-closing "Time" from Murk). Really, there's nothing revolutionary here for Rauhofer's usual clientele. But when the status quo is dressed up with this much craft and class, who needs a revolution? --Matthew Cooke
Album Description From producer, remixer, and DJ extraordinaire comes the third volume of his popular "Live@Roxy" series from his residency at Club Roxy in NYC. Contains rare exclusive remixes and sought after tracks as well as Peter's own signature mixes of Madonna and others.

Series just keeps getting worse... August 12, 2005 Daniel W. Kelly (Long Island, NY United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
No energy at all in Rauhofer's song selection. The repetition hypnotizes you into a deep slumber. It really feels like he has decided he can sell anything just by putting his once leading name in awesome dance music on anything. Track times:
CD1:
1. enlightenment (7:02) 2. Rany days (6:43) 3. Percussive sensation (5:01) 4. Nobody knows me (5:59) 5. Let's do it (5:52) 6. Women beat their men (6:11) 7. One thing leads to another (5:24) 8. Jungle out there (3:00) 9. hold on 2 love (5:42) 10. Soundz (4:05) 11. Over (5:15) 12. C\Del (8:10)
CD2:
1. midnight (4:43) 2. Love me (5:42) 3. Meu coracao (2:58) 4. Scandalous (6:09) 5. mind games (7:23) 6. Good time (4:27) 7. Heartattack (7:18) 8. Tribal scream (5:30) 9. nothing fails (8:15) 10. I miss you (5:15) 11. Music (4:43) 12. Time (5:47)
Disappointed (like Electronic in '91) October 28, 2004 Sarah M. Severson (chicago) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Let me begin by saying how much I love Peter's work (especially the sexy, diva-driven Club 69 albums). That being said, I regret to say _Live @ Roxy 3_ was a huge disappointment for me. Vocals are sparse, beats boring. The only tracks I really enjoyed are Cajmere's "Midnight" -- dark, but truly rhythmic and sexy, with full vocals -- and Peter's "timeless" mix of "Time" by Murk. The latter, like "Midnight," is dark, sexy, and vocalicious. Both tracks (wow! big surprise!) are infused with 80s-esque synth loops and electro squiggles. And then there are the Madonna tracks. Again, I regret to say I was disappointed--but it's not as though Peter had much to work with in the first place ...(big sigh)... Oh how I miss the days of quality Madonna tunes ("Express Yourself," "Vogue," etc.) and Shep's and Junior's piano-drenched remixes of them! And oh, how I miss Peter's dark, stylish, danceable, *non-vocoder* Madonna reconstructions, like his mixes of "Nothing Really Matters"! Oh, well. In short, _Live @ Roxy 3_ comes nowhere near the intensity and danceability of any Club 69 material, Peter's turn-of-the-millenium pop remixes, or his first two volumes of _Live @ Roxy._
This is what they mean by 'pots and pans' September 10, 2004 Drew Linginfelter (Las Vegas, NV USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've heard friends describe music at parties as "pots and pans," but I never really understood what they meant. Then I got this CD. Now I know! This totally sounds like pots and pans. I enjoyed the first two CDs in this series A LOT more than this one. I got bored listening to this set. I wish I could return it. I won't listen to it again. Once was enough.
Too flat July 21, 2004 J. ARCA 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Roxy 3 is the darkest of the series. That's fine, but my gripe is that there are no ups and downs like the previous 2 (5 stars for each), maintaining a constant level of energy. It also needed a couple more strong vocal tracks in it. It was very intesting after the first listen, but then all the songs and beats just start sounding the same. Seems to be consistent with his style lately, as the last time I went to the Roxy, the music just droned. Instead, I recommend the "Higher" CD, also mixed by him. I usually don't like the Disco-ey New York sound, but "Higher" just works for some reason.
Peter Rauhofer seem to be running the show! July 15, 2004 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Rauhofer LIVE is nothing like these CD's. Even though I am still stuck back in the days before Johnny Vicous went trance, the days of where a song took you on a roller coaster of highs and lows, this 2 disk CD set is very what I call either, "Daytime Miami" or "Dirty Tribal After Hours". It's clear that music isn't the way it use to be :( but I have accepted this CD set with open arms. The song by Jahkey is blowin clubs up right now and if u like your music HARD like I do, see if you can get your hand on the Jahkey remix by Ohzee (the best mix in my opinion)
