| Editorial Reviews:
Album Description Paul Oakenfold is one of the most important and influential DJs in popular music. In a career now spanning more than two decades, he has worked with such acclaimed artists and bands as Madonna, U2, the Dave Matthews Band, Incubus, Moby, Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins, Ice Cube and Nelly Furtado. 2003 sees the release of this dynamic new mix album- where he combines mega pop artists such as Madonna and Justin Timberlake with alternative greats such as Bjork and Dave Gahan (of Depeche Mode)! It is now safe to say that Paul Oakenfold is the world's number one DJ! Running concurrently with his burgeoning soundtrack career, Oakenfold recently had five albums in the American Top 50 Electronic Chart. They included Perfecto Presents Another World which, when released at the end of 2000, became America's biggest-ever DJ mix album. Oakenfold was also the headline DJ on Moby's massively ambitious Area:One traveling festival tour of North America last summer.
Album Description The world-renowned Oakenfold leads an avalanche of top remixers as they collaborate with such artists as Madonna, Dave Gahan and Bjork on another electronica masterwork. 19 tracks. Reprise/Sire. 2003.

good album not his best May 8, 2008 J. Shinn (santa barbara,) Nice album, I do like to listen to it but it doesn't have the pump up as his earlier mix CDs, especially his essentials house mix cd with all the remixed pop songs that are energetic and very danceable.
still this is a good two CD album
2nd CD alone is worth price of admission. July 31, 2007 Matthew Brooks (Hoover, AL United States) I've been listening to the 2nd CD for over a year and very happily, I might add. I've not heard the first. IMO, if you bought this album and it had only the 2nd, it would be worth the cash. It's not as good as Tranceport...though almost. It is different, but is a staple in my collection. I am listening to the 1st CD as I type this and it is so far pretty good. I can recommend this album totally.
His Best June 30, 2007 Bryan L. Almond (Richmond, VA USA) I actually got this a few years ago, but I still maintain an appreciation for it. I think that you'll be disappointed if you're looking for something really upbeat like Paul van Dyk or Above and Beyond; this really is not trendy club music-it's darker than his other releases. Oakenfold's Transport was what turned me onto trance and so for the longest time he was the only DJ that I would listen to, of course my horizons have since broadened, my point is that I have most of his pre-2006 CDs. Great Wall, Tranceport, and Another World are the only ones that have remained relevant today, furthermore, I consider Great Wall to be his most creative release. If you like darker trance also check out Markus Schulz's Ibiza '06, that'll blow your mind.
hmmm.. its okay January 18, 2007 Kamal Al-salihi (Chicago) Dirty Stick Floors was the most amazing track i've heard in a long time.. WOW!!!! But............. thats the only track i really really like in the whole album. See, the rest of it is alright, not bad, but just alright. It has a middle eastern trance'ish feel throughout.. here and there it will pick up and get you going again, but to be honest, for the most part, this is not the up tempo type stuff I thought it would be. Def. a good buy for those who find this kind of thing appealing. I give it 4 stars just because it is soooo well mixed.. thoroughly impressed there. I also like the "Hollywood" remix.. nice syth. vocal.
As progressive as trance gets October 18, 2005 I. Bratkovich (Jacksonville, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What an amazing compilation of trance(?) My first impression would be to call it trance because the mixes are so beautiful. But there is so much depth here that it really falls into something much more progressive. This music will grow on you and before you know it, 3 months will pass and you'll still be discovering another great track. You'll find big sound, crisp rythms, celestial melodies, and dark mind-bending bass.
