Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Product Description
Rugged and easy to operate, the Nady MPM-4130 four-channel powered mixer is a reliable, road-worthy DJ companion. Among the unit's multitude of features are a built-in digital delay that produces your choice of four sound-enhancing delay effects (for everything from small to spacious rooms), four mono mic/line inputs with combo XLR and 1/4-inch TRS jacks, and a built-in amplifier that delivers 150 watts of power (4 ohms total) into two parallel 1/4-inch speaker output jacks. DJs will also appreciate the low/high two-band equalizers and individual level and digital delay controls that are unique to each channel.

Meanwhile, the mixer's master section is also loaded, with CD/tape level, master level, digital delay level, and delay time select controls, along with a digital delay select switch and left/right tape-in and tape-record-out RCA jacks. Additional flexibility stems from the rear-panel 1/4-inch TRS main out/amp in jack, which features an unbalanced insert point that creates a break between the main out and the built-in amplifier. This break allows the DJ to send the output to an external signal processor or additional power amplifier, generating even more audio options.

Appropriately for a portable mixer, the MPM-4130's rugged housing includes a top handle and weighs only 18.45 pounds, so it won't wear you out when traveling from gig to gig. The mixer also measures 17.52 by 5.87 by 8.62 inches (W x H x D).

5 out of 5 stars Nady 4 Channel   September 25, 2008
Richard J. Clark (Webster, FL United States)
This 4 channel amplifier is perfect for out small church. It offers 4 lines in, which is all we need for now. As we grow we can expand our system. Beyond that, this Nady amp fit our budget and Amazon povided the best price.

4 out of 5 stars Great value... watch what version you get, though.   December 30, 2006
Edward Harry (Fountain Valley, CA United States)
I bought two of these a few months apart from the same seller. One has the two vents for the fan as stated in the first reviewer's review. The other, does not have any vents or holes other than the vents on the back panel that is common to both units I have.

I'm guessing the weird location on the sides is because it seems that they added the vents/fans after they already were shipping these WITHOUT the fans/vents on the sides and were getting reports/complaints/returns of the units overheating.

I totally respect the fact that the 2nd reviewer most likely has more knowledge on the subject than I do, but the other website reviews of overheating are not due to mis-matched ohm loads. I have had the non-vented unit overheat and shutdown several times using the same two 8hm speakers that I've always used with the vented unit.

To mostly get around this heating issue, I've pointed a regular, room fan right at the back of it to help cool the heatsink that's visible from the backside. I need to see if it's possible to cut matching holes to add my own fan from a computer to "retrofit" this non-vented unit.

Has anyone does this for the 4130, yet?

4 out of 5 stars Works well enough!   August 26, 2006
L. Allen (Memphis, TN USA)
The Nady MPM-4130 was purchased to replace a VERY old TOA powered mixer used solely to rehearse vocals prior to gigs. Comments on other sites regarding overheating and blown fuses might be explained by mismatched Ohm input - the Nady can handle two 8 Ohm loads from speakers to create a 4 Ohm load overall. The DSP effects work relatively well, and volume is not a problem in a rehearsal room. All in all, the little Nady 4-channel works well enough for what it is designed to do, and for its low cost.

4 out of 5 stars Good for what i do   April 15, 2006

This is a very specialized unit. The verbage isn't cleat but this unit is monophonic (not stereo). It has two speaker outputs but they are wired together inside. If you do PA systems for middle sized (100 people) events, like I do, it's a winner.

Pros - small, good mix of features, lots of power (oh yeah), will fit in a Gator transport box if you are clever.

Cons (This is a little brutal but good to know. Since the MPM 4130s are only $100 no one should expect perfection) - Dynamic range on the inputs is too small (10 dB), no EQ for the tape input or final output (it does have EQ for the mic inputs), does not have ears to mount in a standard rack, has breathe holes for fan intake and exit on the SIDES of the box (wierd) (That's why you can't mount it in an SKB box, no breathing room inside the SKB boxes.)
