The annual 2008 August 5, 2008 Ob (New Brunswick, NJ) Ministry of Sound did an excellent job on this annual cd. All 3 cds are amazing. If you still don't have it, get it now.
Annual 2008: Not near as good as 2007- July 6, 2008 Jesse B. Spears 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Ministry of Sound: The Annual. It sells because it has a good formula (usually).
1. Pick the best/most popular club hits of the year. 2. Put them on a CD
But this year they decided to put a couple hits and some boring songs. There were some really big hits this year that never made it to the CD. Where are David Guetta's hits? Where was Jamie Lewis - "So Sexy"? I heard those played in nightclubs all the time. I'd say find another compilation.
Another good one from MOS July 4, 2008 C. Holland (Monterey, CA) It took me some time to appreciate this one, but it fits with the Ministry of Sound label. Another solid effort. I'll agree with other reviews, the disk 3 mashups are definitely the best reason to purchase this.
Good, not great June 4, 2008 FroggyM (Washington, DC) So, as the negative reviews are telling you, this isn't their best Annual. But it's still got some awesome songs. True, there are some songs I've de-selected in iTunes, so they no longer play, but most of the album I enjoy. If you've bought every Annual, you should own this one too.
Is it worth $25? No. $15-$18, yes.
Worthwhile May 20, 2008 M. Ho (New York City) I think this is a worthwhile purchase. This collection holds up to it's predecessers. Like any new album, in my opinion, there is always a bit of appreciation curve to the album in it's entirety. I've found at least 10-12 songs that I can program into my weekend dj residency's that crossover well into a popular format. It's worth the money in the amount of time I saved doing a bunch of research and aquiring upcoming and recently established hit's. If not that...it makes for a decent workout compilation.
