Album Description Funky House Sessions is clubby, sexy, and very cool. This is a mainstream yet credible take on the scene, and if you're into the Hedkandi series or other sexy club albums out there, this will be the funky house album for you. On 2 CDs, with highly stylized 3D artwork, this is the first essential mix compilation of the summer. Featured artists include Max Graham, Studio B, Stonebridge feat. Therese, Mylo, Basement Jaxx, Les Rhythmes Digitales, Fatboy Slim, Anthony Acid, Future Funk, and many more! MOS. 2005.
Album Details Funky House is the Buzzword at the Moment, It's Overtaken the Harder Sound That's Been Dominating for the Last 18 Months in Clubland, and Records Such as Blaze, Max Graham, Les Rhythmes Digitales and the Like Are Set to Be the New Club Anthems that Crossover to the Mainstream. Funky House is Not New in the Clubs, but Only Now is it Big Enough to Carry a Whole Album and Set Out a Definitive Statement of How the Genre Sounds. "Funky House Sessions" is Set to Be the Most Exciting Release Yet, Mirroring the Big Hits in the Clubs and Taking the Concept in a More Mos Direction, Clubby, Sexy and Very Cool. There'll Be Big Hits on There, for Sure, but There Will also Be the Big Club Tracks that Are Overlooked by the More Obvious Funky House Collections. This is a Mainstream Yet Credible Take on the Scene, and If You're Into the Hedkandi's and Sexy Club Albums Out There, this Will Be the Funky House Album You Choose. 2cds, Mixed and with Highly Stylised 3D Artwork.

Go kiwi! September 7, 2005 All things Dance (newzealand) This CD is really good if you want to dance round the living room and pretend you in some big club. Big ups to Lowalk and Loki - two hot kiwi producers who managed to get Seamrider signed to MOS! Great track and hopefully there will be more on the way.
There are some really good tracks on this CD - Love on My Mind - Freemasons and Take Me Away - Stonebridge ft. Therese are two great feel-good tracks. It then gets a bit down and dirty towards the end of CD1 with Roman Flugel - Geht's Noch? (Steven Angello remix) Spektrum - Kinda New (Tiefschwarz remix) and Seamrider - Lowalk/Loki and I do like the SOS (skylark remix) by A'studio and Polina.
CD 2 has some more great tracks starting off with Oh My Gosh -Basement Jaxx (gotta be done) and She got me on the new one from Paul Johnson. That Big Track - Steve Mac and Mosquito and the Raining Again- Moby remix are also great.
Go out and get it!
Good vibes... September 1, 2005 jo_x (New Zealand) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just got this CD off a mate - its great! I am listening to it at work at the moment - the sun is shining, my ipod is cranking and its put me in a really good mood! Some of the obligatory big mainstream tracks (call on me, the big track, love on my mind) but also some less mainstream (well previously they were) -nice bass lines! Luvn it!
Funkin amazing! July 2, 2005 Mr. R. Fitzgerald (Birmingham, UK) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Quite rare these days for a Ministry cd to be as good as this!
CD1 is pretty mainstream, sure, but the vibe is fantastic and nearly all the tracks are winners, especially Studio B and one of the best dance tracks for ages, Tiefschwarz's remix of Kinda New.
CD2 is where it all goes off...Cracking start with Basement Jaxx, then more of a disco feel for the next few tracks (Tweet - Boogie 2Nite - awesome!!) Then it gets real funky and from track 8 til the last track it is ALL brilliant. Luka's Tun Mem Ai is a definate highlight.
A brilliant return to form for Ministry - this is really reflective of whats going off in the clubs at the moment..
A hot club mix for summer 2005! June 22, 2005 A. Shirazian (Dallas, TX USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
My experience with club mix albums has always been hit or miss. Most titles usually have 4-5 songs that you like to groove to and the rest is obscure garbage. This double CD is definately a HIT in my book! Most songs are very danceable, fitness-friendly tracks that make for great driving music or pre-party material.
The first disc starts off with 4-5 very hot, fast-paced funky dance tunes. The 'Yes' remix is great and the Freemasons song is off the chain! This theme continues throughout disc 1 until about 3/4 through the CD it turns into more funky, dark house. This is more of the 'twisted disco' kind of material that borders on electro. A nice way to round off the grooves.
The second disc picks up where the first one left off but on more of a funky tip with Basement Jaxx. In my opinion this disc doesnt really start taking off until tracks 9-15 when the BPMs start going up and the more uplifting grooves come in. The Moby remix and the Steve Angello track are great floor fillers. The disc closes with some downtempo, underground housey tracks.
If you are looking for a CD compilation that features all popular club tunes that you will recognize then get something else like the Ministry of Sound Summer 2005. If you are looking for a CD with a handful of recognizable hits but mostly unheard hot tracks then this is your cd for the summer. Ive always been a fan of funky, disco house and it's nice to see a great compilation put out by MOS. The last compilation I bought that comes close to this is the 21st Century Disco series that MOS had in 03'.
