4 out of 5 stars Got Bass?   July 22, 2002

To some snobs of electric dance music, drum-and-bass and two-step may seem "so three years ago." But Ministry of Sound, who have yet to disappoint, has released this strikingly good collection of some of the fiercest, bass-heavy grooves around. Disc One is a collection of drum-and-bass tunes, while Disc Two features 2-step beats and rhythms. Each disc clocks at around 75 minutes, and both are impressively solid. The mixing is well done, and both discs never wear out their welcome. A common affliction with most compilations of this nature is that after 5 tunes, the songs begin to sound the same. Not here. Ministry of Sound makes sure that the listener remains hooked by featuring some of the most interesting basslines and frantic beats. Some feature vocals, while others are purely instrumental. I played this on my stereo with the bass turned way down, and it was STILL kickin'! That's how bass-heavy this collection is. If your addiction is bass, then Ministry of Sound has the fix for you. Set the controls for the heart of the bass!

5 out of 5 stars I'm certainly 'addicted to bass'!!!,   February 23, 2002

This has got to be one of the greatest album's ever, it has classic and new releases, from so solid to the ganja kru, underground to overground, it has everything. the 2nd cd is more commercial garage and features alot from the pure garage compilations (4 and 5 especially) but it compliments the first cd very well, this is gonna be the sound of the summer, if you dont have this cd go out and but it now, trust me, you'll be playin it till the next ones released !!!
