Amazon.com Colorful You is alive with the confidence Miguel Migs has in his vibrant, emotional style, a chunky mix of sun-soaked melodies, Latin-flavored samples, and luxurious grooves. His model-quality good looks and the soulful, love-machine beats of records like Nude Tempo 1 have already distinguished Migs from the avalanche of similar, downtempo-minded DJs. Despite having less of a rhythmic thrust and a greater emphasis on traditional song structure than his previous work, Colorful You should continue Migs's ascendancy to the coveted realm of such chill music superstars as Thievery Corporation and Everything but the Girl. Not that the record doesn't move; tracks like "Think It Over" and "Days of Color" (both with frequent Migs collaborator vocalist Lisa Shaw) are the sort of juiced-up head-nodders that get a scantily clad crowd good and steamy. Still, it's the balladry of "One Wish for Me" and "Breakin' It Down" that show off Migs's assured touch with vinyl as well as his talent for picking out great hooks. --Matthew Cooke
Album Description After many acclaimed 12'' releases and remixes under his Petalpusher alias, a mix CD that continues to fly off the shelves from coast to coast, Miguel Migs unleashes Colorful You, an album of great songs, seductive beats and memorable vocal performances from label-mate Lisa Shaw. Naked Music. 2002.

great stuff March 14, 2008 Brandon M. Lyon (CA, USA) easily his best album. actually, its his only album i like. it will definitely get you moving.
Nice backround music but nothing to get your blood boiling February 2, 2007 Monkey Bingo (miami beach, florida) Take heed: THIS CD IS NOT MIXED.
Also, to echo some other reviewers: this cd pales in comparison to Mig's other work. Some individual tracks are nice, but without a flow they feel a little lost and unloved. If you are diehard Migs fan, then sure, grab it. Otherwise support his other more worthy efforts.
As a sidenote: Why are so many of Mig's CDs so expensive? Ach!
Great Addition February 16, 2006 Stephen L. Kob (Philadelphia, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm new to "house" music and just downloaded this cd off itunes. I first heard Migs on Digitally imported and have loved all his stuff. It definatley is not a pure house album, but a fusion of chill house and sexy vocals. More of a relaxed listen than club jumper. Although some house reviews dislike this aspect, I prefer the more soothing beats and less repetative vocals. I'm a huge fan of The New Deal, who will always be a better show than any DJ, and therefor prefer them for my live experiences. However, I can't stop playing this album and am in the process of picking up more of his goods.
I Love This CD!!!!! February 10, 2005 spete38 (Washington DC) I work at United Colors of Benetton my co workers and I "LOVE THIS CD" especially "Breakin It Down" and "One Wish For Me" When we hear those two songs come on we pump the volume and start dancing on the sales floor and our customers like it too. I had many people come to me asking about this CD. I LOVE THIS CD!!!!!

If you're a fan of Migs' stuff on NRK, you will definitely not be so interested in this collection. Completely missing are those groovy bass lines that Migs does so well and what is left are a bunch of overly glossy diva trax that are pretty lightweight even by Naked standards. Check out his "City Sounds" or his own tracks on "24th Street Sounds" to get the essence of what Miguel Migs is all about.
