San Francisco Flava from Mark Farina. August 8, 2002 The Groove (Boston, MA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Golden Gate Bridge ain't the only thing worth checking out in the Bay Area. San Fran-based DJ Mark Farina demonstrates his ability to make you dance with this 68-minute trip through some serious house grooves which feature some vocals. My tracks of choice are the bangin' "I Know" and the 14-minute epic "It's Love," which, despite its length, never wears out its welcome. There are quite a handful of DJ mix CDs from Farina, but this is a good place to begin if you're starting to build a collection of his work.
definitive house July 24, 2002 it is 5 summers long and this is still my favorite house music disc. I thoroughly enjoy all of house music and I can recommend much out there, but never has one CD got all I feel is great about this music as much as this treasure. I think this Cd should be issued to everyone who has an inkling toward house music.
Okay , I am a little biased here...... March 2, 2002 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
.......because I already have most(if not all) Mark's CD's that are commercially available , and he is obviously one of my favorite DJ's. I really like this CD , although it doesn't touch his Mushroom Jazz series(especially # 2) for mix quality or track quality in my opinion. The first track is not my favorite , but does a good job building up to the second track , which I LOVE.....the rest of the CD is good , but not great....one mix that isn't great is the mix into Belizbeha's inhibitions , but hey nobody is perfect. If you like progressive house , you will like this CD.
too much time on my hands... December 30, 2001 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Therefore I am sitting here reviewing all my favorite djs and all my favorite cds of theirs. This one is excellent. Antithesis of Mushroom Jazz 1, which is also 5 stars but more downtempo.
