frou frou "details" all that and more... January 6, 2009 Richard S. Lodato (Pa.) I bought this cd after hearing Alanis Morrissette's "Flavors Of Entanglement" I wanted to know what other music her producer "Guy Sigsworth" producer for that album had done and discovered frou frou "Details". I was not disappointed and quite impressed. Even more so than with Alanis's album -which I absolutely love. The cd opens up with a kind of electronic tune that runs throughout the whole album but all cuts are unique and musically touching with wave after wave of textured layers of electronica flawlessness. You just know a lot of long hours and passion went into this very rare piece of work. Imogen's vocals are smooth as silk and effortlessly spot on. This is the kind of album you start listening to and wind up hearing the whole thing as it's so enchanting. It's a few years old but you'd only know it as most of the music done today is far from this enjoyable.
Excellent!!!!!!!!! November 23, 2008 R. Conway (Earth, Sol System, Milky Way Galaxy) Never heard of "Frou Frou", but I borrowed a mix CD from a friend for a long road trip. Very unique. Excellent work. Needless to say that I've bought all of her CD's.
A Modern Masterpiece October 4, 2008 IAmARevenant (Earth A.D.) In the few months since I've gotten Frou Frou's Details, it has become one of my absolute favorite albums (along with Imogen Heap's Speak For Yourself). It's some of the most calming music I've ever heard; it's technically and musically superb.
1. Let Go This was the first Imogen Heap song I've ever heard and from the get-go I was researching her and trying to find anything I could. This song is nothing short of amazing; my favorite part being the sweeping outro (what instrument is that anyway). I love this song. 5/5
2. Breathe In Another great song. These lyrics are just great, and the beat, my god, Imogen and Guy Sigsworth are so good at making beats on this album. 5/5
3. It's Good to Be in Love I cannot get tired of this song. I just love it to death; it's gotta be in my top 3 favorites for this album, and possibly my top 5 for all Imogen songs. It's just so good. 5/5
4. Must Be Dreaming From the guitar intro till the end, this is a great song. The fast pace mixed with Imogen's sweeping vocals make this song. 5/5
5. Psychobabble Never, I say NEVER skip this song; it's quite amazing. The large scope of this song, and the breathtaking bridge, are things not to be missed. 5/5
6. Only Got One After the dark Psychobabble, this is one of the more upbeat songs on this record. It's so good, but not quiiiiite up there with the previous five. It's still great though, don't get me wrong. Listen to it. 4.5/5
7. Shh And the hits keep coming; Shh was one of my favorites from the get go. The guitar melodies, and the rest of the music...you shouldn't skip this song at all. 5/5
8. Hear Me Out I love this song. Simply put. There's nothing else I could possibly say about it other than don't forget to listen to it. 5/5
9. Maddening Shroud After the wonderful 8 previous songs, this is kind of a downer. It's also much more musically simple than the previous songs; for example, the intro is just the A scale backwards; kinda cheap. It's not a bad song my any means, but I think this should've been a b-side and Old Piano or Deal With It (better yet, both!) should've been in it's place. 3.5/5
10. Flicks Now we're back. This is a great song, if a bit repeditive. I heard it was their very first song; what a great first song indeed. 4.5/5
11. The Dumbing Down of Love While it is kind of out of place, I think, that they choose to end the album on such a depressing song, that takes nothing away from how exceptional this song is. Just listen to it. 5/5
The only flaws of this album I can find is Maddening Shroud and the absences of Old Piano and Deal With It; but still, please buy this album; you'll find it more than worth your time.
Love the CD!! July 31, 2008 T. Solomon (NorthernVA) I love this cd!! My first introduction to Frou Frou was from The Holiday movie. It has turned out to be a pleasant surprise.

Track 1 and Track 4 are the best songs on the CD. She has a nice voice so if you want to relax this is a good CD to listen to.
