Nice cover of the Vanity 6 classic. July 2, 2005 K. Eisenberger (Defiance, Ohio United States) Not many people have tried to do a straight up cover of Vanity 6's 1982 radio banned classic "Nasty Girl" but dance diva Inaya Day tries. This version is the US cd single (the Australian one has different mixes) and features 4 very well done mixes. This version is sung as if Brenda Bennett was the lead singer of Vanity 6 instead of Denise Matthews. BIG vocals. The sticking point for me and if you know the original version -- is that Ms. Day never utters the line that got the song banned from radio and the cover of so many stories-- "I need 7 inches or more" . Why that was not included is beyond me. It seems that Vanity in 1982 had more guts or sleeze than Inaya Day did in 2005. The mixes range from flat out bass driven house to tribal house. Tracks: Nasty Girl 1- Full Mix (5:01) 2- So Phat Remix Remix (6:07) 3- Peter 's Reconstruction Mix (9:48) 4- Rauhofer's Sleaze Mix (8:17)
Excellent mixes and vocals but not enough guts to try and do the original the way Prince made it to begin with.
Gays were bouncing off the ceiling! April 19, 2005 Heyguyd@aol.com (Hollywood, CA (USA)) First time I heard this song was at The White Party 2005 in Palm Springs. Apparently, it was the first time most of the crowd had heard it. When everyone heard that first, "Uh, it's time to jam." ...GAYS WERE BOUNCING OFF THE CEILING!
Miss Inaya Day...your rocked the house with that one. THANK YOU!
5 BIG STARS April 6, 2005 DJ @ The Worthington.Com (Ft Lauderdale Beach FL.) 2 of My favorites come together "Inaya Day, and Peter Rauhofer". I thought 4 sure I wrote a review but I guess I was so caught up in this NEW rendition of this CLASSIC song. Peter really knows how to turn a dance floor (an my courtyard poolside) into a huge party. For those of you who do not know of Inaya Day, you are missing out, she is unbelieviable, and with Peter behind the mixing, this song tops the top 10 play list at the resort, as well as all over the world. jason33305@aol.com Prof DJ @ the resort
