Great psytrance with evolving IM sound October 29, 2007 Steven Reddie (An Aussie in Seattle, WA USA) Another great IM release. If I recall correctly, this album was a long time in the making, and we IM fans were getting really impatient for their next release after Classical Mushroom, but it was well worth the wait.
The sound is classic IM but evolving, though it has not at all reached the more commercial sound of the albums to come. The sounds is very clean but still with a lot of subtle nuances to keep you interested as you replay the album time and time again. There is also a lot of gentle emotion in this album compared to their other releases, which plays beautifully against their more traditional driving basses, punchy melodies, and grinding "whatever the hell those grinding sounds are".
Every single track is great in it's own right, but as is typical of IM (and most great psytrance albums in general) they have been blended together into a continuous coherent story.
A gem or two but not that great 2-1/2 stars July 10, 2007 K. Anderson (Long Island, NY United States) This is the first Infected Mushroom cd I've bought. I heard P.G.M on Last.fm radio and immediately had to get the cd, on the strength of that track alone. "Nevereverland" starts thing off and right away you feel good about the purchase. Good atmospheric song. Suddenly things plummet downhill dramatically. Five songs in a row of choppy beats and inconsistency. It's a mess of noise that I really don't want to listen to anymore. Then "Noise Maker" comes and your faith is renewed. A pretty good song and it shows that Infected Mushroom have talent. Right after comes P.G.M, which is a fantastic song and obviously the best on the cd. The last song "Dancing with Kadafi" is a slower song with a little guitar lick in it. I love it. Again it shows that these guys have talent. I'm definitely going to get more of their cds, probably Vicious Delicious. Newcomers shouldn't start with this one.
