Darude, a quintessential to popular dance music May 8, 2008 J. Shinn Darude makes his name with his revving acid sounds in high energy and high velocity style music. I'm sure everyone has heard one of Darude's tracks some place because of the easily identifiable sounds he uses in his music. And two songs were major hits. Great album, his style resonates through and every song is danceable. However, some of the best works by Darude are some remixes of others music. It's a delight hearing what he contributes in changing the sound of another song. This is now poppy style dance music, but still fun.
Oh god No... March 28, 2008 Untitled (nowhere) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love the man who created Deezer. He or She has saved me from spending my money on this ______. I was actually quite enticed when finding out who did the lead single, "Sandstorm". I thought it was quite a energetic dance song. Eager to hear more, I hopped onto good ol' Amazon. I figured, hey he might be a good try. I checked it out on Deezer, of course. What I got...
No wonder so many people hate electronic music. This is complete _____. Every single ________ song has crappy synth/keyboard/so obviously fake shimmering and bleeps, however it's made, it doesn't matter, it sucks. The typical generic house female vocals are also intact. The layers on top are boring casio textures, where the _______ did he get those? It's bad all on top, but beneath it, the main reason why dance music is fun...
What's with those beats? The bass doesn't pulse and goes through you, the whole thing doesn't, they never even change. The crappy boom boom boom beats that are so _________ hollow despite trying to be deep are just bad. Of course, you got the horrible "exciting" cliches like the beyond cliched rolling snare sound, stupid annoying boom and deepened sounds, it's all here. With beats that can't do _____ like what the beats are ________ supposed to, Darude's music has no musical merit whatsoever for me. Just throw all you know about crappy techno and you have this album.
The lead single may be the only decent song on here, mostly for nostalgia. Nostalgia doesn't make great music, so even with that song, it gets no points. Try next time Darude. Or better yet, quit. Meanwhile, you don't have to deal with this garbage. Those interested in this kind of music are the majority checking out these reviews, so it really wouldn't be any good listing Amon Tobin, DJ Shadow, Massive Attack, and Depeche Mode (even though they have vocals, the instruments are electronic).

Before the Storm August 29, 2007 G. Ramirez (critiCali.... son!) The CD is great but it is not the one advertised with all the sandstorm remixes.... the version that they sent me only had 10 tracks and not 15. Before ordering make sure it is the full length album

Awesome! January 9, 2007 Larrina (The Lost Coast, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This CD is worth it just for the first track "Sandstorm." I find this song compels me dance. When I play the CD, I always seem to put this song on repeat, so I haven't really experienced the other songs, so I can't really say much about them. All I know is that first song makes me feel alive, happy, in touch with the world, like tackling any project, and dancing. Totally worth it!
