5 out of 5 stars For those who love happy hardcore, this CD is for you!   December 20, 2008
Ronnie Bradley (Searcy, AR)
I bought this CD back in the day when I used to be a rave DJ (1997). I still listen to it off and on and one thing that I really like about this CD is the uplifting tunes. The bass hits hard in a few tracks, especially that awesome segue/break into track 6 called "forever". It's a continuous mix and for those who don't understand what that means, it's when a DJ crossfades / overlaps a new track that's coming in on top of the track that's beginning to fade out. DJ anabolic frolic did a good job mixing the tunes together. This CD harks back to an era that was more happy and uplifting. I will never let go of this CD! I will always love old skool techno rave and happy hardcore!

4 out of 5 stars Old Skool!!!   December 30, 2007
J. Payne (Georgia, USA)
This cd captures the Hardcore sound of 1996 when Happy Hardcore was at its peak. The cd starts out at 170 bpm and progresses to a 175 bpm finish. All tracks are UK style. Loads of hard to find tracks on here like "Reach Out", "Go Insane (Remix)", "I Believe", "Wanting To Get High (Smoogie's Awake)", and many others. There is a lot of trainwrecking, which gets this cd a 4 instead of a 5, but it's not too noticable. This cd is also mixed in the "old style" way, which is rare to hear nowdays on cd mixes, unless it's an old skool mix. If you love fast, chessy, vocally music, then this cd is for you!

3 out of 5 stars Good, but ancient.   March 13, 2006

To be absolutely honest-this is terrible when compared to MODERN (2005-2006) happy hardcore music. This CD was the beginning of a genre which was just learning proper form. Also, keep in mind, music synthesis technology in 1997 was not what is today in 2006 (then imagine where we'll be later on). With all that stated, here is some actually information on the album:

Happy2Hardcore is full of music pushing the tempo meter beyond what most people would enjoy listening to, and yet the music is well mixed and fun (though cheesy is a good description). DJ Anabolic Frolic is a very talented DJ (better in his later works) and there are no mixing flaws in this whatsoever.

If you enjoy the retro-techno sound, then this disc if for you, but if you find yourself a fan of DJ Tiesto, and expect that sound out of this disc, try something else. Don't buy this CD if you are new to the genre of electronic music (the non-pop stuff), or have little appreciation of experimental music.

5 out of 5 stars It opened up Americas eyes   January 9, 2005
John Allbee III (San Francisco, CA USA)
Chris Samojlenko aka Anbolic Frolic set off his H2BH series with this golden album. Funny how this album has an old skool feel yet produced in January 1997. Some tracks date back to 1992. For those whom know. It was his first and it wouldn't be his last.
Much respect Chris!

Hehe.... One time someone told this CD was made to be hated.. LOL.... The CD isnt all that bad (I've heard worse). I mean I can stand some songs. Its really because I'm a trancefreak BIG TIME! Never did acquire a taste happy hardcore....sounds like house on speed. I really dont recommend this CD at all...dont waste your money (I didnt... friend gave it to me.... now i know why he gave it away...lol), but if you're into all that jazz, dive right in.
