Album Description Carl Cox's Back To Mine is the 19th in DMC's renowned series of personal collections for after-hours grooving. Carl Cox's mix is appropriate for the series his selections take you on a journey from the old Caister soul days through to blissed out modern day electronica. Carl Cox needs little introduction; the man has been at the forefront of the global dance scene for over twenty years. From the early orbital UK raves of the 80s through to the international club scene of today, he has consistently rocked the party with energy, passion and a commitment that few others can come near to matching. Carl Cox's selection includes some gorgeous tracks by Diana Ross, Leftfield, Groove Armada, 808 State, Style Council and Carl, himself!

mwoah... June 21, 2006 Jmr van den berg 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this cd because I'm a great fan of Cox, but I was a bit disappointed when I heard it. It's the kind of easy listening that even my parents don't play anymore. Of course, there are a few tracks that I do like, but I prefer the technomusic Carl Cox plays most of the time... In my opinion, the cd isn't really one piece of music, as I am used to with mixed albums. It's just a compilation of tracks put on a cd to make money in an easy way!
soooooo good! April 6, 2006 Alexandra A. Lamm (st. elsewhere, OR USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you love Carl Cox you'll melt over this album. It is the kind of disco/house music that makes you shed tears of happiness. it also has the power to make you want to dance wherever you're listening to it. I can hardly wait to see him perform live at Coachella! He's the greatest and so is this album!!!
finest disco music in Bactk to Mine August 4, 2005 Alexander Pereira (Caracas, Venezuela) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
What could mean a donwtempo compilation for a trance's master dj like Carl Cox? Disco Music! and nothing more. Yes, and this is what you will get: a disco music jewel compilation. Magic piano in track number one, amaizing Diana Ross in second track, and you will get the prize, happiest grooving in third track, and so on. Climax with high tromps in track six. Getting cool from there and come deep into electronic after grooving, just as only Back to Mine could do, and in fact used to do: best sound for relax after a long journey, or a fresh dinner in the begining of a cool party night. From ravers to lovers: Groove Armada, Leftfield, Carl Cox himself in track 15.
I have the firts records from this serie, and I assume that they have done it all for me and my ears after nine or ten records, but then I saw a Back to Mine from Underworld (one of my favoriest) and I thought "something is happening there". I get my copy and close that chapter, untill my mentor show me this, his latest Back to Mine jewel, and there was, Carl Cox's record. In conclution: if you had ever brought any Back to Mine, you have to have this; if you had never had a Back to Mine session, you have to own this. You wouldn't regret this allbum at all. Let the light lighting your ears with this sounds. And thanks to this sound experience I open my new chapter for what is in next from Back to Mine record serie's.
