5 out of 5 stars The best chill-out I've found since MCMXC A.D.!   January 8, 2006

From what I've heard of Blank & Jones, this is not their norm. Blank & Jones, primarily known for club and trance beats, this is just an awesome flowing and "relaxing" album! I believe the other reviews cover all the technicalities of what part The Pet Shop Boys and Sarah McLachlan play, this CD is a masterpiece of soothing bass lines and almost hypnotic melodies. The track `Counting Clouds' is one my favorites. This album bumped Enigma out of the top spot of ambient CDs in my book! GOOD STUFF!!!

5 out of 5 stars Great relaxing ambient/dance music from masters of trance   January 2, 2006

What more can you say about Blank and Jones? They are awesome. Love trance music as well as ambient/dance, and am so happy I found this CD. Like another reviewer, I wish more trance and ambient/dance music would be released on SACD or DVD-A! Come on guys, I would really love to hear your music mixed to a 7.1 surround experience!!!

5 out of 5 stars A favorite Ambient Chillout album   September 10, 2005
Jeffrey Tveraas (Austin, Texas USA)
I had a hard time finding and securing a copy of this album but it was well worth the effort. This duo exhibits excellent musical imagination and know how to use the right tools to bring it to life. This stands above much of the rest in the Ambient Chillout field with consistantly interesting and dynamic arrangements that never push too hard and wash over you like a velvet wave. Much of their other output is more aggressive to appeal to the dance club crowd but this collection of relaxed downbeats and smooth atmospheres and remixes is easy on the ears and the mind and wants to be played over and over again. I find it very inspiring as well as relaxing. I wish they would do more music like this and it was available in SACD or DVD-A format - that would be terrific!

4 out of 5 stars It would be 5 stars if they didn't leave out "Evolution - Walking On Fire (Ambient Mix)"!!   September 7, 2005

This is one of the coolest chillout albums ever, B&J style!

Every song will take you on a journey, while serene and tranquil sounds ease the mind. It proved really useful when I once took a long train ride to the airport, this album really relaxed me the whole way.

The only major gripe about this album is that they left out the song "Evolution - Walking On Fire (Ambient Mix)". It was featured on the special edition of "The Mix Vol. 2, Disc 3"; Disc 3 was a preview of what was to come on the "Relax" album. I was disappointed, BUT the album would still be great anyway with or without it! ;)
