| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Armand Van Helden is the self-styled bad boy of New York house, a whirlwind of remixes for anyone with cash (large amounts of it only), street tough, hip-hop-style posturing, and hard, raw, no-nonsense house beats. It was those beats that held the secret: a breath of fresh air compared to New York's pumping electro-disco or the smug vocals and skippy beats of garage. Tracks like "Witch Doktor" (the opener here) threw in raw, drum-machine funk, sirens, and vocal samples, bouncing and stropping around with tons and tons of attitude. He's found fame with his remix of Tori Amos's "Professional Widow" and the 2 Futur 4 U album. This is all far less slick: the tracks collected here are pleasingly tribal, primitive, rugged, and crudely addictive, a document of the vinyl birth of a true boogie monster. --Robert Heller

If Michael is king of pop, then AVH is king of house! March 25, 2008 Robert L. Uceda (Denver, CO USA) I couldn't agree more! Armand Van Helden brings a mix of beats and rhythm not found on in most other DJs. He's not redundant in his music and his house makes me feel nostalgic to my days in college around the mid-late 90s. Let's hope he brings groove to our lives for a long time and not fall dead like other drug-addicted or suicidal artists (INXS lead singer, Sublime, Kurt Cobain, Marley etc.) Best song ever - sneaker pimps 'spin spin sugar, spin spin sugar' (w/bass humming along)!!
The best track August 11, 2005 juha (zagreb, croatia) Check out The Mole People - Break Night - one of the best tracks ever!!!

A cd that no doubt has most of the best house music ever produced. Armand is one of if not THE best house DJ in the world. He has and will continue to produce number one hits worldwide and rip up clubs all across England and Europe. If your an american and have the possibility to see him live, don't let it pass by but if you can't then at least he can come to you with one of the best house cd's ever. So if you mix with cds or want be able to hear what you have on vinyl in your car, buy this album. It will be well worth the money.
